The expositions of the Museum of North Bohemia focus on the field of arts and crafts and the industry of decorative arts, and also on the regional natural history, archeology and history.

The Museum of North Bohemia, Liberec, was established as early as in 1873. Since its beginning, it has been focusing on the area of arts and crafts and art industry. After World War II, the Museum collections were extended by the national history subject fields of regional natural history, archeology and history. The Museum's building was built in 1897-1898, according to the design by Fr. Ohmann. It was built in the Romantic historicist style, interconnecting the elements of sacral and palace architecture.

The exposition of applied arts describes the development of European applied arts from ancient times until the present. It is an unusually rich collection of glass, ceramics, china, textile, tapestry, furniture, woodcarving, clocks, old prints, jewellery, noble metals and other subject fields.

The photography cabinet represents, within an intimate extent, the history of this contemporary field of visual arts from the first engineering beginnings in the 19th century to artistically strongly distinctive manifestations of authorial works of the current era.The art poster is presented with the selected collection of works by Czech authors and authors closely connected to the North Bohemia Region, representing a variegated range of art opinions and topics as well as art styles from the end of the 19th century till 1945.

The natural history exposition depicts animate and inanimate nature of North Bohemia by displaying samples from the protected landscape areas of the Jizerské hory, České středohoří, Lužické hory, Labské pískovce and the Kokořínsko Region. In a brief summary, the archeological exposition explains the origins of life, development of the animal kingdom and development of life. The historical exposition clarifies significant milestones in the history of the Liberec Region from the 12th century until 1918.

A separate exhibition section is dedicated to the constructional and administrative development of the city of Liberec.

The exposition of mechanical automatic music machines presents a collection of devices and appliances automatically (re)producing music that will attract attention especially due to their craftsmanship and the inventiveness of the technical solutions which have been long forgotten. Most of the exhibits on display are fully operational.
